Secondhand Serenade

Secondhand Serenade adalah sebuah band rock akustik, yang dipimpin oleh vokalis dan gitaris John Vesely. Vesely telah merilis tiga album studio sampai saat ini di bawah nama Secondhand Serenade: Awake pada tahun 2007, A Twist on My Story pada tahun 2008 dan Hear Me Now pada tahun 2010. Album pertama menggunakan rekaman multitrack untuk membuat teknologi suara, sementara album kedua mengambil jalan yang berbeda, dengan menggunakan sebuah band yang tepat dan synthesizer untuk membentuk suara lebih sempurna.

Awal sejarah

  • John Vesely membentuk Secondhand Serenade di kota tempat ia tinggal, Menlo Park di California, Amerika Serikat, pada tahun 2004. Vesely dibesarkan di San Francisco Bay Area di keluarga musik dan sebagai anak dari seorang ayah musisi jazz profesional, berkomentar bahwa "masuk ke musik adalah hal yang alami" baginya. Biography

Alan Luo
  • Born into a musical family; his parents hosted entertainment shows for weddings, events throughout his childhood, his father as host and his mother sang. He is of Taiwanese aborigine (Amis) from his mother's family and of Taiwanese Chinese ancestry from his father. He is commonly known by his nickname Xiao Zhu, which means 'Little Pig', due to him being overweight during his childhood. Show started playing drums at the age of 3 and performed onstage with his parents as a child. He won a silver award at a father-son singing contest when he was 7.
  • He is fluent in Mandarin, Taiwanese and conversational Japanese (learnt during his stay in Japan before the debut of Show Time, hosted a TV show with Kumi Koda).[citation needed] His English is infamously bad and his off-key mis-used English is somewhat of a running joke especially on his 100% Entertainment show.



Music career

Debut (1995–2003)

  • In December 1995, Show joined «You Are Four Heavenly Kings» imitation competition on China Television. He imitated Aaron Kwok and won 1st place. Then along with 3 other contestants, debut as a quartet boy band 'Four Heavenly Kings' 『四大天王』, releasing 5 albums from 1996 to 1998. Then in 1998 they formally disbanded after 2 members left (compulsory military service). In the same year he formed a duo 'Romeo' 『羅密歐』, with Ou Han Sheng (歐漢聲) the other member of Four Heavenly Kings. They released 2 albums and was active till 2000. After the disbandment of Romeo, Show went solo and for the next 3 years concentrated on hosting variety shows, including stints on Japanese Fuji TV

 

Avex Taiwan (2003–2007)

  • In 2003 he was signed by Avex Taiwan and launched his solo career with the release of Show Time. It sold over 80,000 copies leading to a 2nd celebration version to be published. He has since worked on a variety of genres including hip hop, R&B and has collaborated with Jolin Tsai, Elva Hsiao, Rainie Yang and many other artists.
  • His follow up album Expert Show (Chinese: 達人Show) was released on 22 October 2004. The album features collaborations with Xiao S and Taiwanese boy band Energy and a MV featuring Rainie Yang. It also contains two songs composed by Show and the ending theme song of Taiwanese drama Outsider II (鬥魚2), starring Show.
  • On 14 October 2005, Show released his 3rd album Hypnosis Show (Chinese: 催眠Show). He collaborated with Jolin Tsai for the first lead dance track "真命天子" [Destined Guy]. The other lead track "自我催眠" [Self-Hypnosis] is composed by Jay Chou, especially for Show with the MV featuring Da S.
  • After 11 years, on 18 November 2005, Show realised his dream of holding his first solo concert. It was held in conjunction with McDonald's World Children's Day, titled «Love's Strength» Charity Concert («愛的力量»慈善演唱會). Coincidently he became the first artist to perform in a concert at the then newly opened Taipei Arena.
  • Show released his 4th album SPESHOW on 17 November 2006. The album's title is a play on the words "special" and his name "Show". The first lead track, "精舞門" [The Dance Gate], is a cover of "James Dean (I Wanna Know)" by Daniel Bedingfield. For the first time, he sang a full length English song "Twinkle" with Japanese singer Kumi Koda, and collaborated with Simon Webbe of British boy band Blue and Ariel Lin for the MV of "好朋友" [Good Friend].



EMI Music Taiwan (2007–2008)

  • In August, Show was selected to be the Mandarin spokesperson for High School Musical 2 and sang the Mandarin version of the themesong '"Bet On It" (Chinese: 必殺技, zh; pinyin: Bi Sha Ji) and it was released on High School Musical 2 Special Edition on 31 August.
  • He released his 5th album Show Your Dance (Chinese: 舞所不在) on 16 November 2007. He went to New York to learn and refine his dancing skills with choreographer and creative director Laurie Ann Gibson. The other lead track is a duet "敗給你" [Lost To You] with Elva Hsiao.
  • On 11 July 2008 the live DVD of 2007 Show Luo «Show On Stage» World Tour Concert filmed in Taipei titled Show On Cruel Stage Concert Live was released. It debuted at number one on Taiwan's G-Music Top 20 Audio/Video chart (風雲榜 影音榜), peaked at number one for four weeks and charted for 29 weeks.

 

Gold Typhoon (2008–present)

  • Show recently renewed his contract with Gold Typhoon (Taiwan). Remembering his debut album where no record companies would sign him, Show demonstrated his gratitude towards Gold Typhoon.[citation needed] His 7th album Rashomon (Chinese: 羅生門) held the number 1 spot on G-music for 10 weeks straight, tying Jolin Tsai's run. A re-packaged album was released with bonus DVD which included a 3D music video of new song "舞法舞天" [Dance Without Limits].
  • 2010 Show Luo Dance Without Limits 3D World Live World Tour Concert: Tickets for Show's 2010 world tour were are sold out in less than 2 hours, becoming the first artist to hold 3D concerts.[citation needed] He also held three concerts within 24 hours in Taipei.
  • He released his new album Only for You on 18 February 2011, featuring the singles "Only You", "Hero In Vain" and "Touch My Heart".
  • On 14 May 2011, Show Luo performed a sold out concert for his Dance Without Limits' Encore World Live Tour and being the first person to set a record of over 10000 spectators in attendance since the opening of Singapore Indoor Stadium.
  • As part of his "Dance Without Limits Encore World Live Tour," the Taiwanese pop singer makes stops in Palm Springs and San Jose, California. Before the Palm Springs concert, he held an autograph session for fans.

  • Popularitas Geun Young makin kukuh setelah menjadi aktris utama film horor populer besutan sutradara Kim Ji Woon, A Tale of Two Sisters pada 2003. Saat itu film ini mendapat pemasukan cukup tinggi, bahkan mencetak rekor sebagai film Korea yang diputar di bioskop Amerika. Film Geun Young berikutnya juga tak kalah populer seperti My Litlle Bride (2004) dan Innocent Steps (2005) yang berhasil membawanya ke Festival Film Cannes ke-58.


Tertarik Dunia Literatur
  • Geun Young menempuh studi di SMA Gwangju Kukje dan lulus pada Februari 2006. Maret 2006 dia mendaftar sebagai mahasiswi Universitas SungKyunKwan jurusan Literatur Korea. Gadis yang memiliki hobi mendengarkan musik, membaca, dan menari ini memang menaruh perhatian khusus kepada dunia literatur.
  • Dia bahkan pernah merogoh koceknya sebesar 100 juta Won (Rp 1 miliar) dan menyumbangkannya untuk pembangunan perpustakaan Han Geul, yang menyediakan buku-buku Korea bagi anak-anak keturunan Korea di Australia. Hampir 4 tahun lamanya Geun Young menjadi donatur tetap di perpustakaan tersebut.
 

Ambil Cuti Kuliah Demi The Painter of the Wind
  • ImageSetelah semester empat, Geun Young sempat cuti sesaat untuk syuting film Love Me Not. Hal yang sama dilakukannya ketika menerima tawaran syuting serial The Painter of the Wind pada 2008. Saat itu Geun Young memutuskan cuti kuliah demi konsentrasi pada syuting serial saeguk tersebut. Pengorbanannya tidak sia-sia, aktingnya dalam serial SBS itu membuahkan trofi penghargaan tertinggi, Daesang.
  • Setelah The Painter of the Wind sukses, Geun Young kembali memfokuskan diri ke bangku kuliah. Aktris imut ini adalah tipe orang yang akan mencurahkan perhatiannya pada satu hal saja. Karena itu ketika kembali kuliah, dia tidak membintangi karya apapun kecuali menerima job-job iklan.


Mengidap Hepatitis A Saat Syuting Cinderella’s Stepsister
  • Tanggal 8 Maret, Geun Young dilarikan ke rumah sakit karena positif terjangkit Hepatitis A. Penyakit ini dideritanya setelah mengalami kelelahan, muntah-muntah, dan mual. Terbaringnya Geun Young di rumah sakit membuat syuting Cinderella’s Stepsister ditunda selama 2 hari. Setelah dirawat intensif di rumah sakit, kondisi kesehatan Geun Young membaik dan dinyatakan sembuh pada 10 Maret.
  • Hubungan Geun Young dengan aktor/aktris serial Cinderella’s Stepsister lainnya seperti Seo Woo, Kim Gap Soo, Chun Jung Myung, dan Taec Yeon cukup akrab. Sebulan setelah syuting serial ini selesai, mereka bertemu kembali untuk menjalani wawancara dan rekaman komentar DVD Cinderella’s Stepsister.
  • Meski sudah sebulan tak bertemu, mereka tetap bersikap hangat layaknya berkumpul dengan keluarga sendiri.   • Pamor Geun Young untuk melariskan produk iklan yang dibintanginya mendapatkan pengakuan dari The Korea Advertisers Association. Mereka memilih Geun Young sebagai “Artis Terbaik Untuk Menjual Produk Pengiklan”. Asosiasi para pengiklan yang terdiri dari 200 anggota ini juga memberi penghargaan kepada Geun Young dan aktor Cho Seung Woo sebagai pemenang 2005 Good Model Award. Selain itu, Geun Young juga aktif menjadi duta sejumlah kegiatan sosial.

    Emily Jordan Osment (born March 10, 1992) is an American teen actress, singer-songwriter and voice actress born in Los Angeles, California. After working in several television films in her childhood, Osment gained fame for co-starring as Gerti Giggles in Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams and Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. Osment went on to co-star in the Emmy Award-nominated Disney Channel sitcom Hannah Montana as Lilly Truscott as well as the series movie, Hannah Montana: The Movie.She also starred as Cassie in R. L. Stine's: The Haunting Hour Volume One: Don't Think About It and most recently the Disney Channel Original Movie, Dadnapped as Melissa Morris.

    Osment expanded her repertoire into pop music and more recently alternative/indie rock where she has recorded teen pop hits like "I Don't Think About It," "If I Didn't Have You" alongside her Hannah Montana co-star Mitchel Musso, and most recently "Once Upon a Dream."

    Emily Osment was born in Los Angeles, where her family still resides, to actor Michael Eugene Osment,and Theresa Osment (née Seifert), an English teacher. Her father has appeared in various films and was in Osment's movie Soccer Mom, and her older brother is the Academy Award-nominated actor Haley Joel Osment. Osment was raised Roman Catholic.

    • In 2002, Osment made her film debut as Gerti Giggles in Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams which grossed $119 million globally and for which she won the "Young Artist Award" for best performance in a feature film.In 2003, she reprised her role in the third and final part of the Spy Kids trilogy, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, which grossed $197 million worldwide.
    • In 2006, Osment got the role of Lilly Truscott in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana. The series premiere scored record ratings for the Disney Channel with 5.4 million viewers, a response "beyond our wildest expectations," according to the president of Disney Channel Entertainment.The show earned her a Young Artist Award nomination in 2007 for best performance in a TV series (Comedy or Drama). Osment also appeared in the Disney Channel Hannah Montana promotion "Hannah Montana's Backstage Secrets," in which she portrays Lola in a fictional interview set in the show's canon. Osment has also recorded a song entitled "I Don't Think About It" for The Haunting Hour Volume One under the label Hatchery, for which she shot an accompanying music video. The video was released in The Haunting Hour DVD and premiered on Cartoon Network.
    • The music video shows Osment singing the song in a recording studio. Throughout the video are scenes of Osment singing to the song with crazy animations in the background. Instead, the main genre will be Indie rock, and the EP will be released by Wind-up Records on October 27, 2009. Osment is set to write most of the songs on the album, with the new track "All The Way Up" being premiered on Radio Disney in August 2009.
    • On March 24, Osment confirmed on Good Day NY that her debut album is set to be released in the Summer 2010.The first single, "Let's Be Friends" from her debut album premiered on JSYK.com on June 7, 2010.On June 3, it was announced that the album will be released this fall.Osment announced via Facebook on August 16 that her album would be released in the US on October 5 and that it would be titled Fight or Flight. The cover art was revealed August 17.The next single off Fight or Flight was "Lovesick."

Contrary to previous reports that Osment stated that she looks up to Audrey Hepburn and is a big fan of Breakfast at Tiffany's, she has confirmed in an interview with Eggplante.com that, while she is in fact a huge Audrey Hepburn fan, she has never seen the film.She also confirmed in the same interview that she held a long term complicated relationship with someone for a few years a little while ago which inspires many of her songs, including "You Are the Only One" on her EP All the Right Wrongs.She left her school and opted for private tutoring
